Volunteer opportunities at Meals on Wheels of Odessa

Volunteering at Meals on Wheels of Odessa is a family friendly activity. Our volunteers come from all walks of life. They vary in age from senior citizens to high schoolers. They come from diverse backgrounds, and each brings something unique to the table.

If you’re looking for a place to belong where you can meet new people and spend your time doing something worthwhile, MOWO is the place for you!

Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteers do much more than simply delivering a hot meal each day. In addition to presenting them with a friendly face and an encouraging word, they ensure the recipient is safe in their home and feeling well. For so many a MOWO volunteer may be the only person the client will see or talk to that day.

Our volunteers truly bring the outside world to so many of our clients, and we are honored and grateful for their assistance.

Kitchen Volunteers

The amazing nutrition department at Odessa Regional Medical Center (ORMC) work daily to provide the meals for the Meals on Wheels of Odessa (MOWO) clients. Each morning, ORMC provides the daily menu items in hotel pans, imagine big buffet-style containers. Here at the MOWO office, we plate the food into individually packaged and sealed containers for our clients. The meals are then packed into their insulated delivery containers so that our volunteer delivery drivers can get them out to clients. We also bag side and dessert items along with cold items like milk, which are then loaded into cold insulated bags for our drivers. As a kitchen volunteer, we need your help in the process.
